PRESIDENT FARMAJO CONGRATULATES THE PARLIAMENTARIANS OF BOTH HOUSES OF THE FEDERAL PARLIAMENT


 Mogadishu, April 14, 2022; The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, who congratulated the members of both Houses of the Federal Parliament on the swearing in of the new Constitution, highlighted the role of the people in the new Parliament in strengthening governance, developing the country and strengthening unity.


 The president highlighted the importance of the country completing the elections, in line with the September 17th agreement reached by the leaders of the National Consultative Forum and ratified by both Houses of the JFS Parliament, which is the basis for holding joint elections.


 The President urged members of both Houses to complete the efforts of the 10th Parliament to pass effective state-building legislation that will pave the way for the ongoing security, economic and social reforms that have taken place in recent years.


 The President urged the people of Somalia to strengthen their unity and preserve the fruits of governance, with every citizen giving priority to the national interest and the development of our country.


 President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo wished the members of both houses of parliament who were sworn in today the best of luck in fulfilling their national responsibilities.
